Hull City Association Football Club, commonly referred to as Hull City, is a professional football club based in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The club was founded in 1904 and plays its home games at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull City was originally founded as Hull F.C. in 1904 by a group of local businessmen. The club played its first game in 1905 and moved to its first ground, Anlaby Road, in 1906. Hull joined the Football League in 1908, and by 1922 had reached the Second Division.

In 1930, Hull City reached the FA Cup Final for the first time, losing 2–0 to Arsenal. The club won the Second Division title in 1932–33, and promotion to the First Division. However, the club was relegated back to the Second Division in 1937–38.

The club won the Second Division title again in 1957–58, and promotion to the First Division. Hull City reached the FA Cup Final for the second time in 1968, losing 1–0 to Leeds United.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Hull City had several near-misses, narrowly missing out on promotion to the First Division on three occasions. The club was finally promoted to the Premier League in 2008.

In the 2014–15 season, Hull City were relegated back to the Championship. The following season, the club won the Championship play-off final, and promotion back to the Premier League.
